Dr. Dalia Kamel

Dr. Kamel earned her medical degree from the University of Mosul, Iraq in 1996, MBCHB with honors. Since graduation, Dr. Kamel has worked as a family physician in both rural and urban settings.

She has a passion for family medicine with special interest in prenatal care, women’s health and pediatrics.

Later in her career, she received her diploma in pediatrics from the University of Baghdad.

Dr. Kamel is bilingual in Arabic and English.

Maria Papadopoulou

Dr. Maria Papadopoulou

Family Physician

Dr. Maria Papadopoulou is a family physician with interest in prenatal care up to 20 weeks, pediatrics, menopause, fertility, preventive medicine and psychiatric cases. She believes prevention is better than cure and supports the role of cognitive behavioural therapy in patients with mental health issues. She strongly supports the Family Centred care model and is an advocate for healthcare in the elderly.

Dr. Papadopoulou studied at the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia and completed a 4-year residency in Family Medicine in Greece. She is currently accepting patients at the Douglasglen location.

Dr. Cecile Henderson

Dr. Cécile Henderson (Female Physician)

Dr. Cécile Henderson completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Edinburgh in 2001. She has been working as a family physician ever since finishing her postgraduate medical training in Scotland in 2006.

In June 2016, she immigrated to Calgary with her family and has been working as a family doctor at PrimeCARE since July.

She finds all aspects of family medicine rewarding and especially enjoys caring for young families and also has a special interest in medicine for the elderly.

Alisha Rai

Family Physician

Dr. Rai was born in South Africa and completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Pretoria in 2006. She is passionate about preventative health care and lifestyle management.

She enjoys all areas of general family medicine, but has a special interest in women’s health and the care of young families.

Asha Nair

Dr. Asha Nair

General Adult Psychiatry

I completed my degree in Medicine in India in 1997. I did a 4-year training program in Psychiatry in the UK and got my degree from the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2003.
I qualified as a General Adult Psychiatrist in 2006. Since then I have worked as a consultant in the UK in areas of General Adult Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.
I have been working at PrimeCare Health since July 2015.

Jennifer French, R.Psych, M.Ed.

Jennifer French obtained her Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2004. She has is a Registered Psychologist and has counselled clients through various stages of life, including transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, into family life and retirement, and through the dying process.

Jen’s expertise is in weight management, eating disorders, body image, and self-esteem.

She also enjoys working with clients who have various health–related issues, and those experiencing depression, anxiety, transitions, grief, stress management, addiction and co-dependency.

Dr. Michelle Thibodeau (Female Physician)

Dr. Michelle Thibodeau completed her Medical Degree in 2011 at University of Sherbrooke, in the province of Québec.

She worked as a family physician in a clinic and as a hospitalist. She moved to Calgary during the fall of 2016.

She enjoys all aspects of family medicine, especially chronic disease prevention and teenage’s health.
Dr. Thibodeua is bilingual in french and in english.


Dr. Mudher Al-Witry (Male Physician)

Dr. Al-Witry graduated medical school in Iraq and has been practicing medicine since 1989. He recently relocated to Calgary and is practicing family medicine.

Dr. Al-Witry’s practice interests include: health and lifestyle maintenance and long term care of his patients. He also performs minor surgical procedures including the removal of warts; moles and skin tags. Dr. Al-Witry is bi-lingual in Arabic and English.

Dr. Karen Choi

Dr. Karen Choi trained as a general practitioner at the University of Calgary. She has a special interest in occupational medicine, musculoskeletal issues, and the practice of medical acupuncture.

She holds a certificate from McMaster University’s Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program and has completed training in the Gokavi Transverse Technique for the treatment and management of chronic myofascial pain and dysfunction.

Dr. Choi is currently accepting referrals at the Douglasglen location for patients experiencing acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain who may benefit from acupuncture treatment (referral form). She is also a WCB acupuncture provider.

Elaine Chan

Elaine took up clinical massage therapy to have the skill set to support her special needs daughter manage her pain and mobility issues. Leaving behind a long career in the non-profit sector in Singapore, she graduated from Makami College with a 3000-hour Diploma in Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy. She also has a M.Sc. degree from the National University of Singapore in Asia-Pacific Human Resource Management.

Elaine is educated in a variety of massage techniques including Orthopaedic Assessment, Myofascial Release, Swedish Relaxation, Cupping, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point therapy, Frictional and Migraine therapy, TMJ therapy, Pre & Post Natal, and treatment of soft tissue injuries as a result of motor vehicle accident and athletic injuries.

In her spare time, Elaine dedicates time for her family, gardening, and reading up about cuisines and recipes. An avid believer in health and wellness, she also enjoys traveling and keeping up with world news.
